Miscanthus BELOYARSKY – a technical variety included in the state register for growing zones. The plant forms a dense, upright bush of medium height, up to 2.5 m, with thick stems and a powerful root system. Leaves are linear in shape, up to 3.2 cm wide, light green, stiff, with longitudinal stripes and a white central vein, gradually turning yellow in autumn.
Green mass (straw) yield is 131 centners/hectare. The vegetation period lasts 173 days – from the beginning of spring vegetation to the first mowing. Cellulose content is 43.5%, hemicellulose 32.0%, and lignin 14.5%. Due to its dense structure and stem stiffness, the plant is suitable for mechanical harvesting.
Miscanthus BELOYARSKY is winter-hardy in the central region without cover; in areas with low snowfall, preventive mulching is recommended. The plant grows rapidly due to underground shoots, so reliable growth restriction is necessary. In open ground, it shows good adaptation to fertile and well-moistened soils, and in garden conditions, it can be used as an accent element, screen, or decoration for winter and autumn gardens.
