Description
Morus 'Joy' is a medium-ripening tree that reaches up to 10 meters in height and forms a dense, spreading crown. Its trunk is straight, with brownish-gray bark, and medium-length, straight, green shoots. The leaves are elongated, light green, smooth, and glossy, giving the tree an elegant appearance.
The fruits of 'Joy' have a cylindrical shape, weigh up to 2.5 grams, and have a creamy color. They are distinguished by a sweet taste with a refreshing aroma and a sugar content of about 23.3%. The average cluster mass is approximately 2.2 grams, and the maximum is 2.5 grams. The ripening period is extended: berries are available for three weeks, starting from early July.
The variety is characterized by high winter hardiness and resistance to drought, heat, diseases, and pests. Due to abundant annual fruiting and versatility in application, 'Joy' becomes an attractive choice both for gardeners who want to diversify fruit and berry crops and for those who value sweet berries with a bright aroma.
