Description ORLOVSKY DWARF
ORLOVSKY DWARF is a spring proso millet, a heat-loving and drought-tolerant cereal plant widely used in both the food industry and for animal feed. It is distinguished by high heat resistance, especially in the second half of the vegetation period, and can withstand temporary deep tissue dehydration without significant productivity loss. The plant has a well-developed root system and an upright stem with numerous branched nodes, while the inflorescences are panicles ranging from 8 to 25 cm in length. Proso grain can be red, yellow, or brown in color and contains 12-13% protein, 81% starch, 3.5-4% fat, as well as mineral salts and trace elements, including zinc, iodine, bromine, and chlorine. B vitamins, such as thiamine and riboflavin, are present in proso grain in twice the amount compared to other cereal grains.

ORLOVSKY DWARF is unpretentious regarding soils and resistant to drought, ensuring a stable yield with minimal costs. The plant is self-pollinating with the possibility of cross-pollination up to 10-20%. Cultivation begins with sowing seeds in warmed soil at a temperature of +11-13 degrees. Various sowing methods, including band, wide-row, and row sowing, are applied to increase yield. Harvesting is conducted when ripeness reaches about 75-85%, when approximately 80% of the seeds are fully mature.

ORLOVSKY DWARF is widely used as feed for domestic animals due to its high feed value, which is not inferior to wheat and barley. Additionally, proso is used in the food industry, making it a versatile and in-demand crop. Thanks to its agronomic characteristics and nutritional properties, this variety of proso is a reliable choice for agricultural production.
