The 'Peresvet' lupin variety represents an early-maturing variant of yellow lupine (Lupinus luteus L.), which was included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements in 2004. It is distinguished by high resistance to anthracnose, fusarium, and virus-induced leaf narrowing due to multiple individual-family selection on an artificial infectious background.
The plant is of medium height, erect, and indeterminate. At the beginning of the vegetative period, there is a trace of anthocyanin, but over time it disappears, leaving a light-green leaf color. Flowers have a lemon-yellow hue, the keel tip is dark purple, and seeds are gray and round. The mass of 1000 seeds ranges from 100 to 110 grams.
'Peresvet' is characterized by rapid initial growth and synchronized maturity: the vegetative period is 85–96 days. Grain yield reaches 25–30 centners per hectare, while protein content in seeds ranges from 40–43%. Alkaloids are present in minimal concentrations (0.02–0.03%). Due to high nitrogen accumulation indicators and rapid growth, this variety is widely used as a cover crop to improve soil fertility, as well as in grain production.
