Daylily KARL RUSSIA

A robust classic for the modern landscape

The 'Karl Rossi' daylily is a testament to the rigorous breeding standards set by the Botanical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Agro-Industrial Society 'Taytsy'. Developed under the guidance of Georgy Ivanovich Rodionenko, this cultivar eschews the fleeting trends of over-complicated hybrid shapes in favor of pure, striking aesthetics. Its hallmark is a deeply saturated red color that resists sun-fading, maintaining its brilliance throughout the entire flowering cycle.

Why choose 'Karl Rossi'?

• Growth dynamics: This cultivar is noted for its rapid growth rate, allowing gardeners to establish mature, voluminous clumps in a fraction of the time required by many foreign imports.
• Versatility in use: Unlike most daylilies that are strictly landscape plants, 'Karl Rossi' produces sturdy, upright flower stems that are excellent for cut flower arrangements.
• Reliability: Standing at 70–80 cm, it provides a consistent, structural element in both mid-border and background settings.

The primary strength of 'Karl Rossi' lies in its adaptability. It is free from the high-maintenance demands often associated with delicate, exotic cultivars. It thrives in temperate conditions, showing resilience against local pathogens and common environmental stressors. However, performance is directly linked to water availability; while it is robust, consistent moisture is required during the active growing season to ensure the flower spikes reach their full 80 cm potential. In periods of extreme drought, expect slightly shorter stems if irrigation is not maintained.

Optimal for landscape professionals and home gardeners alike, this variety is perfect for those who prioritize established pedigree, vigorous growth, and a classic red profile that performs reliably year after year.
