Tulip Business Class

Elegant Classic with High Resilience

The 'Business Class' tulip is a standout member of the fringed group, capturing attention with its vivid, sun-drenched color and remarkable stress tolerance. Unlike many varieties that require constant vigilance against disease, this hybrid features genetically inherent resistance to major bulb pathogens, including anthracnose, Fusarium wilt, and Ascochyta. This makes it a preferred choice for commercial flower producers where the risk of crop loss due to fungal infection can severely impact profit margins.

Agronomic Profile

• Appearance: Classic fringed morphology with bright yellow petals, finished with a dense, needle-like fringe along the edges.
• Dimensions: A tall-growing plant, providing the necessary stem length highly valued in professional floristry.
• Phenology: Mid-season flowering, making it an excellent candidate for staggered forcing schedules or as a transitional accent in landscape design.

The primary strength of 'Business Class' is its relative independence. Its natural resistance to Fusarium allows for reduced chemical application, lowering operational costs and simplifying maintenance protocols. However, a word of caution: despite its resistance profile, the variety demands well-drained soil. Excessive moisture remains the weak point for all tulips, and no amount of genetic protection will prevent bulb rot in heavy, waterlogged clay.

Who is this variety for? Primarily for greenhouse operators and professional nursery owners. Its consistent growth and high ornamental value allow for premium pricing in the market, while the reduced need for intensive fungicide spraying turns it into a highly profitable asset for any flower farm.
