This variety prefers sunny spots but can also tolerate partial shade, making it versatile for garden compositions. For planting, loose, loamy, and drained soil enriched with organic substances such as compost or manure is recommended, which promotes healthy growth and abundant flowering. Planting is best done in May or August so that the plant has time to take root before the cold arrives.
The flowers of Sun Smile Daylily are bright yellow with ruffled petal edges, reaching a diameter of about 12–15 cm, giving the plant decorative appeal. Flowering lasts from June to August, with up to ten buds opening simultaneously on one inflorescence. The Daylily has a light aroma and is frost-hardy, withstanding temperatures down to -40 °C.
Caring for a Daylily does not require special efforts: moderate watering, especially on hot days, regular mulching to retain moisture, and feeding with mineral fertilizers twice a year – in spring and after flowering are sufficient. It is important to remove withered flowers and, if necessary, divide overgrown bushes every 5–6 years to maintain the health of the plant.
