Daylily Karamelka

Daylily 'Karamelka': Resilience Meets Elegance

The 'Karamelka' daylily, developed by the North Caucasian Federal Agricultural Research Center (SKFNAC), stands out as a testament to breeding programs focused on both aesthetic appeal and extreme environmental adaptability. Unlike many delicate imported hybrids that struggle in harsh climates, this variety is engineered to thrive in cold conditions, boasting a cold hardiness rating of -35°C.

Key Features and Strengths

• Superior Cold Hardiness: The ability to withstand temperatures as low as -35°C ensures this plant remains a reliable perennial in diverse climates.
• Extended Bloom Season: With a 60-day flowering period and the capacity for repeat blooming, 'Karamelka' offers more consistent visual appeal than many simple-flowered varieties.
• Balanced Growth: Reaching a height of 70 cm with 10 cm flowers, it provides the perfect structure for borders or mid-tier landscape arrangements.

For gardeners prioritizing low-maintenance yet high-impact plants, 'Karamelka' is an ideal choice. Its moderate growth rate ensures the plant maintains its structure without becoming invasive, reducing the need for frequent division. The simple, soft-pink flowers provide a classic, gentle aesthetic that works well in both monochromatic and mixed flowerbeds. While it thrives in full sun, its adaptability to partial shade makes it a versatile addition to various garden layouts.

SKFNAC has developed a variety that balances professional-grade breeding with ease of care. 'Karamelka' is optimal for those who need a durable, long-blooming perennial that maintains its decorative qualities with minimal interference, even in challenging weather conditions.
