Lettuce CRISPISTA 2

Reliable Iceberg yields: Working with Crispita 2

When cultivating Iceberg lettuce, the priority is not just the visual appeal of the head, but the predictability of the crop's development. Syngenta's Crispita 2 addresses the main challenge vegetable growers face — vulnerability to diseases that can wipe out a plantation in a matter of days.

Phytosanitary Reliability

The primary advantage of Crispita 2 in the field is its proven resistance to downy mildew. Iceberg is a sensitive crop: the slightest error in irrigation or a sudden temperature spike can lead to rot, leaving the head loose and unmarketable. With this Syngenta hybrid, even under intensive feeding and irrigation schedules, the rosette remains dense and healthy.

Operational Performance

• Uniformity: During harvest, loss is minimized as the heads are highly uniform. This is crucial for retail chains where packaging standards are non-negotiable.
• Root System: A well-developed root structure allows the plant to adapt to environmental stress. In practical terms, this means the lettuce resists wilting during hot spells, maintaining turgor longer than competing varieties.
• Shelf Life: Logistics and storage become hassle-free. The leaves retain their characteristic crunch and do not darken at the cut site, directly impacting sales profitability.

Crispita 2 is the choice for growers focused on sequential production who want reliable results without needing constant, "edge-of-the-seat" monitoring. It is a high-performance tool that tolerates minor agronomic inconsistencies and guarantees a high-grade marketable output.
