Lettuce Philemo

Reliable Iceberg yields

When working with Filemo from Enza Limited, you immediately notice the predictability of the results. This early-maturing Iceberg-type variety performs exactly as expected from Dutch breeding. The plant forms a dense, well-structured bright green head, which is critical for marketability when selling through retail chains.

Field resistance

The main headache for any lettuce producer is downy mildew (Bremia lactucae). Filemo saves you from excessive fungicide applications, as it possesses strong genetic resistance to this pathogen. In high-humidity conditions, when infection risk is at its peak, the hybrid remains robust and does not require frequent adjustments to your protection program.

Growing specifics

• Early maturity: allows for quick clearing of fields for crop rotation.
• Head structure: dense, with excellent internal leaf architecture, resistant to damage during transport.
• Maintenance: standard for Iceberg, with no specific demands on mineral nutrition.

For an agronomist, working with this variety is convenient because it does not bolt prematurely during temperature fluctuations, maintaining productivity even during stress periods. It is an ideal choice for those seeking a balance between high yield and minimal risk of quality loss due to diseases.
