Lettuce MULTIRED 145

Stable yields and predictable performance

The «MULTIRED 145» from the Dutch company Nunhems addresses this from the moment you choose your seeds. This variety performs consistently well in both open fields and greenhouses, which is essential for effective supply chain planning.

Agronomy and crop protection

The biggest challenge in lettuce cultivation is dealing with downy mildew and viral infections. With this hybrid, the risk of crop loss is minimized thanks to Nunhems’ advanced breeding. It shows excellent immunity against various mosaic viruses and powdery mildew. For the grower, this translates into fewer pesticide applications, resulting in significant savings on chemical inputs and a reduced environmental footprint.

Why choose «MULTIRED 145»

• Deep red pigmentation: the intense color persists throughout the entire growing cycle, which is critical for retail presentation.
• Harvesting efficiency: the heads form uniformly, and the consistent medium size allows for standardized shipping without the need for extensive grading.
• Early maturity: the short cycle from germination to market-ready maturity increases the number of turnovers per hectare per season.

Maintaining the crop is straightforward, involving standard irrigation and fertilization routines. Because of its high disease resistance, «MULTIRED 145» is quite forgiving if there are minor delays in the maintenance schedule, making it a highly reliable tool for any producer. It is the perfect choice for those prioritizing leaf quality and consistent color who don't want to gamble their crop on sudden outbreaks of fungal diseases.
