A Reliable Choice for Forage: The 'Gvardeets' Bromegrass

In the challenging landscapes of the Russian North and Siberia, agricultural success depends on selecting crops that can endure severe winters and short growing seasons. The 'Gvardeets' bromegrass, developed by the Tyumen Scientific Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, stands out as a robust solution for perennial forage production.

Performance and Market Value

As a perennial fodder crop, 'Gvardeets' is engineered to maintain long-term productivity in permanent meadows and pastures. Its reputation is built on its resilience to abiotic stress and its consistent growth performance after multiple cuttings. For livestock farms, this translates into a stable and cost-effective feed source.

• Usage: High-quality perennial forage crop.
• Crude Protein Content: 12–16%.
• Origin: Developed by the Tyumen Scientific Center (SB RAS).

The protein profile of 'Gvardeets' (12–16%) makes it an essential component for high-quality hay and silage production. By integrating this variety into their crop rotation, managers can significantly reduce the need for frequent reseeding, thereby lowering operational costs. The variety's ability to survive extreme cold without loss of density makes it a preferred option for sustainable agricultural operations aiming for long-term output stability.
