Description VECTAR BELARUSIAN
The potato variety Vektar Belarusian is a medium-late, table-type variety of Belarusian selection, characterized by high yield and resistance to a number of diseases. The plant is semi-upright, with medium-sized leaves and open green coloration, as well as purple flowers. Tubers are oval-round in shape, with red skin and light-yellow flesh, weighing from 92 to 143 grams. Starch content varies within 15.5-20%, ensuring good mashability and suitability for various cooking methods, including boiling, frying, as well as production of French fries and chips.

The variety is characterized by high marketability (88-98%) and excellent storability (up to 97%), making it convenient for storage and sale. Yield of Vektar Belarusian reaches 500-700 centners per hectare, which is 60-61 centners higher than standard varieties. The potato is resistant to late blight, golden nematode, viruses X, Y, M, as well as leaf and tuber phytophthora, crinkly and streaked mosaic, and dry fusarium rot. Additionally, the variety demonstrates drought and temperature fluctuation resistance, and is not picky about soil type.

For planting, tubers of 35-55 mm size are recommended, planted at a depth of 8-10 cm. Maturation period is 100-110 days, allowing for a stable harvest in medium-late terms. Due to its characteristics and disease resistance, the Vektar Belarusian variety is a reliable choice for cultivation both on an industrial scale and in private farms.
