Rainbow

The 'Rainbow' pear variety consists of medium or tall trees with a wide pyramidal crown, bred at scientific institutions in the Ural region. The tree is characterized by high winter hardiness and resistance to major diseases such as scab, rust, and spotting, as well as to pear gall mites. Thanks to these qualities, the variety is well adapted for growing in regions with difficult soil and climatic conditions, including loams and chernozems, while preferring fertile soils and sunny sites.

The fruits of the 'Rainbow' pear are of medium size, round or broadly pear-shaped, with smooth skin of yellow-green color with a pink-red blush. The flesh is creamy, juicy, with a sour-sweet taste, making the fruits universal for fresh consumption and for preparing various products. The ripening period falls in August, while the fruits can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

The variety is self-sterile and requires the presence of pollinators for successful fruiting. Yield reaches 40-50 kg from one tree. Fruiting is of a mixed type, fruiting branches are bent, which facilitates fruit collection.
