Kupchikha

Kupchikha is an original hybrid variety obtained by crossing garden strawberry and large-fruited raspberry. This variety combines the best qualities of both plants: the aroma and taste characteristics of raspberry with the size and shape of strawberry. Kupchikha bushes are medium-sized, with widely spaced thin shoots and bright green, wrinkled, and ribbed leaves. Peduncles are powerful, reaching a height above the leaves, forming up to 15 flowers per bush. Runners are formed in a moderate amount, have a pale red color, and are of medium size. Fruiting of Kupchikha occurs at a medium ripening time — from late June to mid-July. Berries are large, weighing from 15 to 25 grams, elongated in shape, with an uneven structure. The taste of the berries is amazing, juicy, and very aromatic with a distinct musk note, making them especially attractive for tasting. The first berries are usually the largest, and by the end of fruiting their size slightly decreases. The variety is characterized by high yield — about 300 grams of berries can be collected from one bush. Kupchikha is undemanding in cultivation and adapts well to various conditions. It is resistant to major diseases and pests, has high winter hardiness and good transportability, which allows berries to be preserved for a long time after harvest. The plant fruits well on both sunny and shaded areas, although in open places berries ripen faster.
