Description DWARF 3
DWARF 3 – a dwarf variety of walnut, grown in Ukraine and Moldova. The tree grows to 2–2.5 m and has a spreading crown, making it suitable for garden plots and hedge plantings. The fruits are large, oval in shape (17.5–19.5 g), the color is golden wheat, and the kernel is easily extracted from a thin shell about 1.2 mm thick. The nut mass is in the range of 8–11 g, which corresponds to a high content of proteins and fats.

The variety is distinguished by early fruiting: fruiting begins as early as the second-fourth year after planting, and in the best years, the yield reaches 130–140 kg per tree. It is best to place it in sunny plots with moderately moist, loam-carbonate soils. The tree has high immunity to pathogens, including chlorosis and fungal diseases, and also tolerates drought and low temperatures well – cold hardiness to -30 °C.

DWARF 3 is suitable for both home use and commercial cultivation. It is easy to process mechanically: the fruits are well suited for hulling, and the thin shell decomposes quickly. Thanks to its high yield and ease of care, this variety is an excellent choice for gardeners looking for a reliable and productive walnut.
