This plant belongs to the hickory walnut variety «Valentina's Gift», which is grown in the Crimean selection. The tree is of medium size, reaching a height of about 4–4.6 m and begins bearing fruit in the fourth year of life. In mature age, the tree retains a compact form, which is convenient for garden and vegetable garden plantings.
The nuts of this variety are large, with an average weight of about 27.3 g. The shell has a light-brown hue, thin structure, and peels off easily while retaining strength. Inside, the kernel occupies about 90% of the nut's volume, which ensures a high yield of the useful product – about 60.5%. The root skin is light-brown in color, and the inner coating is smooth.
The variety is distinguished by its resistance to diseases and pests, as well as good frost resistance. Fruits ripen in the first decade of September, which allows planning the harvest in advance. Yield is regular – about 82 c/ha, which makes the plant attractive both for commercial growing and for personal consumption. Due to its pleasant taste and high content of useful substances, the nuts «Valentina's Gift» are suitable both as a healthy snack and in cooking – they can be used in baking, salads, or simply served with cheese.
