Anniversary Walnut – a variety distinguished by high cold hardiness and disease resistance. It can withstand low temperatures down to ‑32 °C, so young saplings do not require winter protection. The variety is undemanding in care: it only requires regular watering and fertilization, as well as regular pruning to maintain the tree's shape.
Anniversary is an early-bearing variety and begins bearing fruit as early as the fifth year after planting. Yields increase with age – from 100 kg per tree at 10–15 years old to 110 kg for more mature plants. The nuts have a light brown shell, thin and easily opening, and the nut weight is approximately 12.2 g. The taste is pronounced nutty and oily, making them popular both in cooking and for direct consumption.
For successful cultivation, it is necessary to consider space requirements: the tree can reach a height of 14–18 m, so a significant distance between plants is required during planting. Partial self-fertility; optimal pollinators are the varieties Parisky, Kolesnikovskiy, and Virovoy. Maturation period – September. Due to high yield and ease of care, Anniversary is a preferred choice for gardeners who want to get quality walnut with minimal care costs.
