The walnut is a high-value product valued for its rich taste and useful properties. The varieties presented in the 'Sad-Eлита' nursery include selected breeding forms by Shughin L.S., such as Sadko, Yakisny-1, Bagriany, Timoshenko, and Poltava grape. These varieties are distinguished by pronounced side-fruiting (laterality), early fruiting, and resistance to extreme conditions, ensuring high yields even in various climatic regions of Ukraine.
Walnut seedlings from the 'Sad-Eлита' nursery are suitable for growing on sunny plots with moderately moist, loam-carbonate soils. Fertilization is recommended to maintain optimal growth and fruiting. The variety developed in Fergana city in eastern Uzbekistan is also known for its high yield: medium-sized fruits (10-12 g) ripen in mid-September to early October.
In addition to agronomic characteristics, the walnut possesses significant biological properties. The skin of black walnut, used in Black Walnut NSP preparation, is rich in flavonoids, anthocyanins, tannins, and essential oils. These components give the product anthelmintic, anti-parasitic, and antiseptic effects, and also contribute to the treatment of diarrhea of various origins due to astringent and bactericidal effects.
