Walnut "Marion" is a medium-sized tree with a height of up to 15–17 m and a wide canopy with a diameter of about 7–8 m. It is characterized by moderate frost resistance and disease resistance. The flowering period falls in May, and the fruits ripen in September–October; they have a medium size (approximately 12–20 g) and a light brown shell, which is thick and very hard.
Walnut "Marion" seedlings are grown in nurseries in the Moscow region and are suitable both for home gardens and for greening territories. The root system is closed, the planting depth is about 50 cm, and the plant prefers partial shade with the possibility of direct sunlight. Thanks to moderate frost resistance, the tree can grow in various climatic conditions.
Walnut fruits have aromatic pulp and a sweet taste, which makes them valuable both for nutrition and for decorative purposes. "Marion" is often used as rootstocks and elements of landscape design due to its large canopy and attractive appearance.
