Maidlen Pineapple is an early-ripening table grape variety characterized by medium-sized bushes with a multi-arm fan training system. Leaves are medium-sized with strong incision and medium spider-like pubescence. Bunches are medium-sized, conical or cylinder-conical in shape, and have medium density, with a mass of about 214 grams. Berries are oval in shape, light green in color with a white skin, juicy and possess a pleasant harmonious taste. Sugar content reaches 15.5%, and acidity is 8.0 g/L, providing a high tasting evaluation of fresh grapes at the level of 8.3 points.
The variety has high yield, with an average harvest weight per bush of about 4.2 kg. Bushes behave stably with short and medium pruning lengths. Despite the variety's prospects, it is susceptible to disease at a level of 40% and spider mite damage up to 60%. Nevertheless, Maidlen Pineapple is recommended for cultivation in non-industrial viticulture zones, especially in home gardens in the Middle Zone of Russia, the Lower Volga region, and southern Western Siberia.
The variety was included in the State Register of the Russian Federation in 2000 and is the result of breeding by FGBOU VO RGAU-MsKHA named after K. A. Timiryazev. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, Maidlen Pineapple is popular among grape growers who value early ripening and high-quality berries for fresh consumption.
