Pear Ampir

Genetic Adaptation to Northern Climates

The 'Ampir' pear, developed by the L.P. Simirenko Institute of Pomology, stands out as a robust solution for regions with demanding climatic conditions. Its primary technological advantage is high frost resistance, specifically engineered to withstand the thermal stress characteristic of northern agricultural zones in Ukraine.

Technical Specifications

• Ripening period: Winter. Late harvesting allows for strategic storage planning and supply management.
• Purpose: Fresh market. The fruit features a dense texture and a balanced biochemical profile, ensuring excellent organoleptic properties throughout the consumption season.
• Storage capabilities: The variety exhibits high stability during long-term storage, maintaining structural integrity and commercial quality without premature flesh softening.

Agronomic Insights

Selecting 'Ampir' is a logical step for growers aiming to hedge against winter temperature fluctuations. The breeding focus on the resilience of generative buds provides a consistent yield even in unstable environments. From a cultivation standpoint, the variety responds well to standard pruning techniques, which improve light penetration within the canopy—a key factor for enhancing sugar content and fruit development.
