The "Magia" grape variety is the result of selection by VNIIViV under the guidance of Y.I. Potapenko. This variety is distinguished by vigorous bushes and dark blue, slightly oval berries weighing about 1.9-2 grams. The berries have high sugar content — about 23.5%, and acidity within 7.8-8.1 g/l, which ensures a harmonious taste and makes the variety ideal for producing table and dessert wines.
The "Magia" variety is characterized by early-mid maturity, which is approximately 125-130 days. Yield is high and reaches 140-150 centners per hectare. The grapes differ in good frost hardiness, withstanding temperatures down to -25...-27°C, as well as the ability to easily recover after the vine freezes. This allows growing the variety in various climatic conditions.
In addition, "Magia" has resistance to major fungal diseases: downy mildew and powdery mildew, with resistance ratings from 2 to 3 points. However, the variety is not resistant to phylloxera. Thanks to the combination of high yield, frost hardiness, and disease resistance, the "Magia" grape is an excellent choice for winemakers seeking to produce quality wines with a rich flavor.
