Bukovinka

The Bukovinka grape variety belongs to the medium maturity period and is characterized by vigorous bushes with well-maturing canes. The flower is hermaphroditic, which promotes good pollination and crop formation. Bunches are of medium size, conical in shape, and have a dense structure, with an average bunch weight of about 206 grams. Berries are white, round, with a thin and elastic skin. The pulp is juicy and melting, possessing a pleasant harmonious taste with a slight muscat aroma, making this variety especially attractive to lovers of dessert wines. The Bukovinka variety is distinguished by high yield, reaching 150 centners per hectare, while the juice sugar content varies from 20 to 28%, and acidity is 7-9 g/l. Thanks to these indicators, the grape is ideal for producing high-quality table and dessert white wines, as well as good quality dry wines. The slight muscat aroma imparts special elegance and richness of taste to the wine. One of the important features of the variety is its high resistance to main fungal diseases, such as phylloxera, downy mildew, powdery mildew, and gray rot. Moreover, Bukovinka withstands a decrease in temperature to -22–23 °C well, which allows it to be grown in regions with cold winters. Saplings of the variety usually have an age of about two years and use the rootstock 101-14, which promotes good rooting and plant development.
