Alminsky is a mid-season technical grape variety intended for the production of eco-friendly juices and red table and dessert wines with a pronounced varietal aroma. This variety was bred at the Winemaking and Viticulture Research Institute 'Magarach' using generative hybridization by crossing the Muscat VIR and Magarach No. 124-66-26 varieties. Grape clusters weigh from 300 to 500 grams, while berries weigh from 3 to 5 grams, ensuring high yield and quality raw materials for winemaking.
The variety is distinguished by high resistance to various biotic factors such as phylloxera, downy mildew, powdery mildew, and gray rot, as well as to abiotic stresses including frost down to -27-30 °C and drought. Thanks to these properties, Alminsky is suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions, including the entire territory of Ukraine. The variety yield reaches 140 centners per hectare, while the sugar accumulation level is 30 grams per 100 cubic centimeters, which contributes to obtaining quality wine material.
Alminsky is a promising variety for industrial cultivation due to the combination of high productivity, resistance to adverse factors, and excellent technological characteristics. It is recommended for the production of eco-friendly wines and juices, making it in demand among winemakers seeking to create natural and aromatic products. The variety is patented by NIViV 'Magarach' and officially entered into the register of plant varieties for industrial cultivation.
