The Avrora Magarach grape variety was bred at the NIVV 'Magarach' by treating seeds of free pollination of the Sovignon Green variety with the ethyleneimine mutagen at a concentration of 0.05%. This variety belongs to the mid-season ripening period, with a phenological period of about 130-140 days. Bushes have strong growth, young canes are upright, and wood ripens well. Leaves are quite large, wide, and entire with barely visible lobes, wrinkled on top and with sparse hair along veins on the bottom. Flowers are perfect, and the variety blooms late. Bunches are conical, medium-sized, weighing 300-320 grams, loose to medium-density, with a wing. Berries are small, light green with a pink hue on the sun-exposed side, thick-skinned, and juicy, with a harmonious taste. Avrora Magarach is distinguished by high resistance to fungal diseases, including downy mildew and powdery mildew, as well as to phylloxera, which allows it to be grown on its own roots. Frost resistance is high - up to -25-27 °C, which makes it suitable for cultivation in regions with cold winters. The fruiting coefficient is 1.7, and yield can reach 150 centners per hectare. Pruning is recommended for 5-7 buds, which promotes good wood ripening and stable fruiting. The variety is intended for the production of ecologically clean products: table, champagne, and dessert white wines with a pronounced floral varietal aroma, as well as for the production of juices. Thanks to the harmonious taste and balanced sugar content (19-24 g/100 cm³) at acidity of 8-9.5 g/l, the Avrora Magarach grape is in demand among winemakers and lovers of quality table grapes.
