Mustard «JUNONA» is a Sarapa variety (Sinapis alba L.) known for its high productivity and resilience to adverse climatic conditions, such as soil drought and high temperatures. The plant reaches a medium height, features a uniform structure in growth, flowering time, and maturity, ensuring ease in agronomy and allowing its use as a cover crop.
The seed yield of the «JUNONA» variety ranges from 30 to 37 centners per hectare, with a mass of 1,000 seeds falling within the range of 3.5–3.8 grams. The vegetative period lasts 78–83 days, making it a mid-early variety. The oil content of the seeds reaches 47–48%, while the essential oil content reaches up to 0.70%. The seeds do not contain erucic acid and possess a high percentage of oleic acid (53–54%), which increases their value as a food product.
The «JUNONA» variety is widely used in the food industry due to its taste and aromatic properties, as well as in the medical sector. Additionally, it is often used as a high-protein feed additive for animals, providing an additional source of protein and energy. Thanks to its resistance to pests and diseases, «JUNONA» ensures a stable yield even under adverse growing conditions.
