Fescue VALDAI

Aesthetics and Durability in Landscaping

The 'Valdayskaya' fescue is a selection product focused on creating resilient decorative covers. When operating this variety, its predictability is the key factor: plants reach a height of 60 to 100 cm, forming dense clumps with a characteristic blue-green foliage hue. Choosing this variety is justified in scenarios where a combination of visual aesthetics and minimal maintenance costs is required.

Operational Features and Maintenance

Working with this variety does not require deep genetic expertise, but it is important to consider its biological characteristics established by the originators from the N.I. Vavilov Institute (VIR):

• Growth Stability: The variety demonstrates uniform development, simplifying the calculation of seeding density and subsequent care.
• Decorative Aspect: The blue-green color of the foliage is maintained throughout most of the growing season, making 'Valdayskaya' a reliable tool for a landscape designer.
• Adaptability: As a product of Russian breeding, the variety is adapted to local climatic conditions, which reduces the risk of freezing or dying during standard temperature fluctuations.

Maintaining an area with 'Valdayskaya' comes down to standard operations: timely irrigation and monitoring the grass height. Due to its height of 60–100 cm, the variety allows for both background plantings and independent landscape accents. When planted correctly, the culture closes quickly, minimizing weed development, which significantly reduces the operator's labor costs for weeding.
