Bentgrass KROMI

The Professional Choice: Cromi Creeping Bentgrass

In the world of professional turf management and golf course design, Danish breeding is globally recognized for its precision. The Cromi variety, developed by DLF, stands out as a top-tier choice for creating ultra-dense, low-mowed surfaces. As a premium cultivar of Agrostis stolonifera, it is engineered for environments where both visual perfection and extreme resilience are non-negotiable.

Key Advantages for Course Managers

The strength of Cromi lies in its robust genetic profile, which directly addresses the most significant challenges in turf maintenance. In volatile climates where humidity and temperature fluctuations create hotbeds for fungal outbreaks, Cromi consistently outperforms competitors:

• Resistance to Snow Mold: The variety shows exceptional durability against winter-spring fungal pressures, essential for maintaining turf integrity in temperate and northern latitudes.
• Dollar Spot Tolerance: Cromi is highly resilient to dollar spot, significantly reducing the necessity for intensive chemical intervention and fostering healthier, more sustainable turf.

DLF, as the originator of this variety, focused on aggressive vegetative propagation. Its stolons quickly fill in voids, creating a tight, consistent mat that prevents weed encroachment. This rapid recovery is invaluable for restoring worn sections of a golf course or establishing new surfaces where ball roll consistency is paramount.

Application and Performance

Cromi is designed for the professional segment. It excels under close-cut mowing regimes, maintaining its density even at heights as low as 3-4 mm. By forming a dense mono-stand, the grass naturally crowds out invasive weeds and less desirable species. For golf superintendents, implementing Cromi is a strategic move to achieve a tournament-quality appearance while simplifying long-term maintenance cycles.
