Eggplant «Thick Lord» is a mid-early hybrid with a period from germination to technical maturity of 105-115 days. The plant is powerful, sprawling, medium-sized, reaching a height of 70-80 cm. The fruits are large, round, slightly flattened shape, dark purple color with a smooth and glossy surface. The average fruit weight is 200-250 grams. The flesh is white, dense, tender and does not contain bitterness, which makes this variety especially attractive for culinary use.
The hybrid is characterized by high yield, which can reach 5.5 kg per square meter. One of the key advantages of the variety is its resistance to a wide range of diseases, ensuring a stable and high-quality harvest. Due to the excellent marketable qualities of the fruits, the eggplant «Thick Lord» is recommended for home use, canning and processing.
For successful cultivation of this hybrid, loamy and clay loam fertile soils, rich in organic matter, are preferred. The best predecessors are onions, carrots, pumpkins and legumes. Sowing seeds is carried out in the second decade of March, and seedlings are pricked out at the stage of 1-2 true leaves. Transplantation into the ground is carried out at the age of 60-70 days, after the threat of frost has passed, with a planting density of up to 5 plants per square meter. Further, regular care is required, including fertilization, weeding and loosening of the soil.
