GALICH

GALICH — a mid-season eggplant variety intended for cultivation in open ground, film coverings, and greenhouses. The plant features a compact, medium-height bush with a stem of medium anthocyanin intensity and green, weakly wrinkled leaves. Maturation periods range from 110 to 145 days from germination, allowing for optimal harvest timing under proper growing conditions.

GALICH variety fruits have pear-shaped or cylindrical forms, 15-18 cm long and weighing 150-200 g. They are dark violet in color with a glossy surface. The flesh is whitish, non-bitter, making these eggplants particularly attractive for home cooking and canning. The variety is distinguished by high yield, synchronous maturation, uniform fruit size, as well as excellent storage and transportability, which is convenient for storage and transportation.

For successful cultivation, GALICH prefers highly fertile, light soils rich in organic matter, as well as well-lit and wind-protected areas. Sowing seeds is recommended at the end of February to the first half of March in pots up to 8 cm in diameter, and seedlings should be transplanted into a greenhouse or under film covering in May when soil temperature is above 14°C. It should be noted that prolonged heat above 30°C or extended cooling can negatively affect plant development, causing flower and fruit drop. The variety is resistant to tobacco mosaic virus, which enhances its reliability during cultivation.
