Black Diamond

The 'Black Diamond' eggplant variety is an early-to-mid-season cultivar with a vegetative period of 105 to 145 days, depending on growing conditions. The plant forms compact, low-growing bushes about 50-60 cm high with symmetrical or semi-spreading branching. The fruits are cylindrical in shape, featuring dark purple, almost black glossy skin, and reach lengths of 14 to 23 cm with a mass of 150-250 g. The flesh is light, creamy, tender, and tasteless, making them particularly appealing for home cooking. The 'Black Diamond' variety boasts high yield—up to 6.5 kg of fruits can be harvested from one bush. It is resistant to many diseases affecting solanaceous crops, which facilitates care and enhances crop reliability. The plant fruits well under various weather conditions and possesses excellent shelf life and transportability, allowing for long-term storage and transportation of the harvest without quality loss. These eggplants are versatile: they are used for frying, stewing, stuffing, and canning. Due to the thin skin and low seed count, the fruits are easy to prepare and have a pleasant taste.
