Diamond

The Diamond eggplant variety is an early-maturing, high-yielding variety with a vegetative period from 60 to 80 days from seedling transplant to technical maturity. Bushes are compact, 40 to 60 cm high, branched, and sufficiently leafy, with fruits located primarily in the lower part of the plant. The plant prefers a large amount of light and heat, is unpretentious regarding agronomy and watering, which makes it suitable for cultivation both in open and closed ground. Fruit-bearing continues until the onset of frosts.

Diamond eggplant fruits have a cylindrical shape, 14 to 18 cm long and 3-6 cm in diameter, with a smooth, shiny dark purple skin. The average fruit weight ranges from 100 to 160 grams. The flesh is light, very tender, but dense, without bitterness, ensuring high taste qualities. The variety is suitable for fresh consumption, stores well, and is widely used for canning and processing. Due to its density and resistance, fruits are suitable for transportation over long distances.

The Diamond variety has strong immunity to phytoplasmosis and mosaic virus, as well as medium resistance to fusarium, blossom end rot, and phytophthora. However, it requires protection from the Colorado potato beetle. Average yield reaches 10 kg per square meter, making this variety a popular and time-tested choice for cultivation in various climatic conditions.
