Reaction F1

Reaction F1 cabbage is a mid-season, high-yielding hybrid of white cabbage developed by breeders of Bejo Zaden from the Netherlands. This hybrid is characterized by its adaptability and versatility, successfully grown both in open fields and under plastic or agrofiber coverings. Two planting methods are possible: transplanting seedlings or direct sowing of seeds into the soil. Reaction F1 thrives on various soil types and demonstrates excellent yield performance across different regions of Ukraine, including southern areas where seedlings can be transplanted as late as June 10. Its robust root system provides resistance to drought, making it optimal for cultivation in challenging climatic zones. The Reaction F1 hybrid features a neat, moderately spreading plant, allowing for relatively dense planting with a recommended density of 35–50 thousand plants per hectare. Heads have a smooth, round shape with tightly packed leaves, ensuring uniform internal structure and high weight despite compact size — average head weight ranges from 2.5 to 3 kg. Reaction F1 has an attractive appearance that remains intact during transport and long-term storage. Heads retain a light green color and market appearance for 7–8 months, ensuring high storability and market demand. The cabbage is resistant to major diseases such as Fusarium wilt, vascular bacteriosis, and thrips infestation. To achieve large heads, application of mineral fertilizers is recommended to maximize growth and yield. The hybrid maintains its organoleptic qualities after cutting and withstands adverse external conditions, making it a reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve consistent, high-quality yields under various cultivation conditions.
