Description GREEN LACE
Dill cultivar 'Green Lace' is a late-maturing variety with high germination and good yield. The plant forms a powerful, densely foliated bush up to 135 cm high with large, dark green leaves having a blue-grey tint. The greens feature a rich green color, intricate shape, and a bright spicy aroma due to increased essential oil content, making dill a valuable seasoning plant. The time to harvest is 35–45 days from seedling emergence, and the late formation of umbels allows for long-term use of greens in fresh form, as well as for drying and freezing. The variety is characterized by cold hardiness, high yield, and rapid regrowth after cutting, enabling multiple harvests of greens per season. For growing dill 'Green Lace', it is recommended to sow in several rounds from late April with an interval of 10-12 days, at a depth of 0.5-1 cm, with a distance between rows of 5-10 cm or with random continuous sowing. Sowings are preferably mulched with peat, and care involves timely watering and weeding. The variety is suitable for both open ground and greenhouse cultivation. In addition to culinary use, dill 'Green Lace' possesses beneficial properties: it has a diuretic and choleretic effect, improves gastrointestinal tract function, aids in relieving headaches, and has an anti-inflammatory effect. Due to good preservation after freezing, greens retain their taste and useful qualities for a long time, making this variety versatile and convenient for use in a household.
