Dill LAPIS

Stable harvest of aromatic greens

The 'Lazurny' dill variety is focused on professional outdoor cultivation, where predictability of results and the ability to harvest marketable produce over a long period are highly valued. With a growing season of 80–90 days, this variety is ideal for staggered planting, allowing farmers to plan fresh produce deliveries to the market throughout the season.

Practical application in farming

The main advantage of 'Lazurny' is its focus on leaf mass production. Unlike early-ripening varieties that bolt quickly, 'Lazurny' keeps its rosette tender for longer, which is critical when frequent cutting is required:

• For farms: High foliage density allows for the formation of tight bunches that maintain marketability longer during transport.
• For market sales: The dark green color with a bluish tint makes the produce visually appealing on the shelf, increasing competitiveness.
• For industrial processing: This variety is excellent for freezing and drying, as it retains a distinct spicy aroma even after heat treatment or dehydration.

Agrotechnics and target use

The originator of the variety (Crimean Research Institute of Agriculture) incorporated high adaptability to Ukrainian climatic conditions into its genetics. In practice, this means stable development even with temperature fluctuations typical of spring and autumn seasons. As a late-ripening variety, it is best planted for a late harvest when demand for quality, aromatic greens increases and competition from early varieties decreases. It is the optimal choice for those who prioritize leaf quality over fast maturity.
