TRIO

Red clover, meadow variety TRIO is an ultrarood variety with a short growing season, a bi-cutter variety with a period from spring regrowth to the first cut of 45-70 days, which is 10-15 days earlier than the Kirovsky 159 variety. Plants have an upright and semi-rigid bush, up to 75 cm high, with high foliage: 50.4-56.8% at the first cut and 66.1-78.8% at the second. A marker feature of the variety is a double head, while seeds have an oval shape and are colored in yellow-violet shades. The average number of internodes is about 6, mass of 1000 seeds — 1.9-2.0 g.

The variety is characterized by high winter hardiness (more than 90%) and resistance to major diseases: anthracnose and ascochytosis damage is weak, fusarium — medium. Yield reaches a maximum of 11.9 t/ha of dry matter and 863 kg/ha of seeds. Crude protein content in dry matter is 16-18%, fiber — 25.7-28.4%. Flowering and ripening in the variety are simultaneous, without the formation of sub-grass, which ensures uniform ripening and ease of harvesting.

TRIO is recommended for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including the North, Northwestern, Central, Volga-Vyatsk, Central Black Earth, Middle Volga, Ural, Western Siberia and Eastern Siberia. The variety is an excellent predecessor for rye and spring crops, and with non-cover early spring sowing can be used as a cover crop, contributing to improving soil structure and increasing its fertility.
