Clover decorative "Dragon's Blood" is a perennial creeping plant with a height of about 15 cm, forming a dense low green carpet with bright burgundy or purple inclusions on the leaves. The leaves are trifoliate with a unique pattern: a dark burgundy or red vein runs through the center, while the leaf itself is half-painted in white and green. This unusual combination of shades and the pattern, resembling blood splashes, gives the plant an exotic and attractive appearance, which served as the basis for its name.
During the flowering period, which occurs in June-July, the clover forms small white-pink head-shaped inflorescences that attract bees and other pollinators. The plant is distinguished by high winter hardiness and unpretentiousness, making it convenient for cultivation in various climatic conditions. To maintain the brightness of leaf color, decorative clover requires a sufficient amount of sunlight, although it can withstand light semi-shade.
Clover "Dragon's Blood" does not have special requirements for soils and can grow on calcareous clayey, loamy, and even heavy soils with different pH levels - from acidic to strongly alkaline. It enriches the soil with nitrogen, which positively affects its fertility. The plant prefers moist soils, however, it needs good drainage, as water stagnation can be harmful. During dry periods, regular watering is recommended to maintain the health and decorativeness of the plant.
