Description Kudesnik
Kudesnik is a tetraploid, two-cut meadow clover variety with an early maturity period. Plants feature an erect bush growing up to 74 cm tall in the first cut and up to 66 cm in the second. Stems are long, of medium thickness or thicker, with a medium to large number of internodes. Leaves are large, dark green with an intense pattern; many plants have white markings on leaflets. Inflorescences are pink, large, and bright. Seeds are multicolored, round-bean-shaped, large, with a 1000-seed mass varying from 2.2 to 3.4 g. The variety is distinguished by powerful vegetative mass and high leafiness, reaching 53.7–63.3%. The vegetative period to flowering is 45–65 days, and to seed maturity is 112–127 days. Dry matter yield averages 11.9 t/ha, with a maximum of 16.5 t/ha, and seed yield reaches up to 3.8 c/ha. Frost hardiness is high, about 95–97%, ensuring good overwintering in growing regions. Kudesnik has lodging resistance at 3.6–4.2 points and is weakly affected by anthracnose. However, the variety is moderately susceptible to clover canker and seed beetle. Thanks to its characteristics and adaptation to the Volga-Vyatsky and Northeast regions, this variety is widely used to obtain quality fodder and seeds, providing stable yields and high productivity.
