LOBANOVSKIY

The meadow clover of the Lobanovskiy variety is a two-cut, early-maturing fodder variety developed at the Perm Research Institute of Agriculture and NPO "Preduralye" by mass selection from the hybrid combination of Liepajna and Perm local varieties. The plant features a semi-upright bush with a stem length up to 75 cm and medium density. The leaves are light green, elongated-elliptic in shape, sparsely hairy on the underside, while the inflorescences have a spherical head of medium looseness with reddish-purple flower corollas. The seeds are heart-shaped, colored from yellow-green to purple, with a 1000-seed mass of 1.6–1.8 g.

The variety is distinguished by its early maturity: from the beginning of spring regrowth to the first cut, it takes an average of 68 days, and to seed maturity—114–121 days. During the growing season, it forms two cuts of green mass or one seed crop. The yield of dry matter, based on variety trials in the Perm region, reaches an average of 77 c/ha, while seed yield ranges from 1.1 to 1.6 c/ha. Lobanovskiy has good winter hardiness and medium resistance to anthracnose, but may be severely damaged by seed weevils.

Lobanovskiy clover is intended for cultivation on meadows and fields for the purpose of producing high-quality feed for livestock. It is characterized by high disease resistance and low fertilizer requirements, making it a profitable and reliable choice for creating balanced feed rations. Average flowering time and optimal agrotechnical characteristics contribute to the effective use of this variety under various climatic conditions.
