Kretunovskiy® Red Clover is a variety widely used in agronomy for field sowing and soil improvement. This variety features an upright and semi-bushy growth habit with stem heights of 37 to 75 cm in the first cut. Leaves are rhombic in shape with an intense pattern and weak pubescence, while flower heads are globose, ranging in color from pale pink to red. Seeds are predominantly yellow with shades from light violet; the mass of 1000 seeds is approximately 2 grams. Kretunovskiy has a very early flowering period, lasting 37–60 days until the start of flowering, which is several days earlier than the Trio variety. Seed maturation takes 85–103 days. Maximum dry matter yield reaches 11.2 tons per hectare, and seed yield is 4.0 centners per hectare. The variety exhibits high winter hardiness (90–99%) and moderate resistance to anthracnose, though it is susceptible to clover rust and seed weevil. It is less prone to root rot compared to the standard Trio variety. Kretunovskiy Red Clover is suitable for cultivation on pastures and in orchards, where it serves not only to improve soil structure and fertility but also as high-quality animal feed. Thanks to its characteristics, such as early maturation, high disease resistance, and good seed quality, this variety has a wide growing region, including northern and central areas. Additionally, its decorative properties make it attractive for use in landscape design.
