The "Purple Marmelad" carrot is an unusual root crop with a bright purple coloration and a yellow-orange core. This mid-late variety matures in 125–140 days, forming smooth, elongated-conical roots 18-20 cm long and weighing 150-200 grams. The carrot flesh is sweet, juicy, and very appetizing, making it an excellent choice for fresh consumption, preparing vitamin salads, colorful cuts, and home cooking. Thanks to its good storability, the roots retain their healing properties and taste qualities until the next storage season.
A feature of the variety is its rich composition of useful substances, in particular, a high content of anthocyanins — powerful antioxidants that contribute to strengthening the immune system, improving the work of the cardiovascular system, and visual functions. "Purple Marmelad" carrot is distinguished by high resistance to various diseases and pests, which facilitates its cultivation and increases yield.
Sowing seeds is recommended to be done in late April – early May at a depth of about 1 cm with inter-row spacing of 15 cm. After seedlings appear, they are thinned, leaving a distance of 5–7 cm between plants. The yield of the variety is from 3.6 to 5.3 kg per square meter. Seeds are released in packages of 50 pieces and are suitable for growing both in open ground and for seedlings.
