The 'ALTAIR' carrot variety is a mid-season hybrid with a maturity period from germination to technical ripeness of 102-110 days. Plants form a semi-erect or semi-spreading leaf rosette of medium size. The roots have a cylindrical shape with a blunt tip, measuring 16-18 cm in length and 4-5 cm in diameter, fully submerged in the soil. Their surface is smooth with pronounced eyes, with a bright orange coloration, a small core that is also orange. The average root weight is 130-160 g. The taste quality of fresh roots is good, characterized by high sugar, carotene, and Vitamin B content. The 'ALTAIR' hybrid is distinguished by stable and high yields, ranging from 3.1 to 7.4 kg per square meter depending on the growing region. It is resistant to low temperatures and can withstand frosts down to -5°C, expanding its cultivation possibilities under various climatic conditions. This carrot variety is moderately resistant to white and gray rots, as well as to dry rot, which contributes to maintaining crop quality during storage. Sowing seeds is recommended in late April – early May at a depth of about 1 cm with a row spacing of 15 cm. After germination, thinning is carried out, leaving 5-7 cm between plants for optimal root development. Due to its characteristics, the hybrid is suitable for long-term storage and can be used both for fresh produce and for early spring bunch carrot cultivation.
