RANOK F1: The Strength of Ukrainian Carrot Breeding

In the competitive market of vegetable crops, the RANOK F1 hybrid, developed by the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of the NAAS of Ukraine, stands out as a reliable choice for commercial production. Designed specifically for the climatic conditions of the region, this Nantes-type carrot has earned a reputation as a stable and high-performing hybrid, perfect for early harvest and bunching sales.

Key Agronomic Traits

With a vegetation period of 125–132 days, RANOK F1 is categorized as a mid-season crop. It produces uniform, cylindrical roots that meet the strict requirements of the modern fresh market. Key physical parameters include:

• Shape: Distinctly cylindrical.
• Color: Intense, deep orange.
• Size: 14–16 cm in length.
• Weight: Consistent range of 138–164 grams per root.

Disease Resistance and Market Value

A major focus of the breeding process for RANOK F1 was building a robust defense mechanism against common soil-borne pathogens. The hybrid features excellent resistance to both white and gray rot, which are often the primary causes of post-harvest losses and crop degradation in the field. This inherent resilience allows growers to achieve a higher yield of marketable produce, even under challenging weather conditions. For producers looking for a predictable, high-quality, and disease-resistant variety, RANOK F1 represents the optimal balance of domestic breeding expertise and commercial efficiency.
