The Boyarynia carrot variety is a mid-late, high-yielding variety of the Berlin type, with a vegetative period ranging from 125 to 140 days. The roots have a cylindrical, blunt-cone shape, measuring 19-22 cm in length, with a bright orange color and a dark orange core. This variety is distinguished by its high sugar content, juiciness, and excellent taste, making it ideal for fresh consumption, processing, and long-term storage.
The plant is light-loving and cold-resistant; young seedlings can withstand frosts down to 3-4°C. The optimal temperature for root development is about 20-22°C. Seeds are suitable for sowing both in spring and under autumn, with autumn sowing recommended in late November–December, before the ground freezes, at a sowing depth of 2-3 cm. Spring sowing can begin on the first day of field work, starting from late February–March. The variety adapts well to various soil types and climatic conditions.
Boyarynia carrots are characterized by stable yields even under adverse weather conditions and can be stored until the next harvest, maintaining high taste qualities. Seed consumption is about 60 g per hectare, while the weight of seeds in a package reaches 125-140 g. Due to its characteristics and versatility of application, this carrot variety is deservedly considered worthy even of a royal table.
