Description

The Amber carrot variety is a mid-season type Nantes with cylindrical, blunt-rooted roots of bright orange color. The flesh is juicy, tender, and sweet, making this variety particularly attractive to consumers. High carotene content ensures not only a rich color but also beneficial properties, thanks to which Amber carrots are widely used for preparing baby food and therapeutic nutrition. The surface of the roots is smooth, and the mass varies from 110 to 170 grams, which facilitates storage and transportation.

The variety is characterized by high yield reaching 6-8 kg per square meter and a maturation period of 80 to 110 days depending on growing conditions. Amber carrots are suitable for growing in all regions but develop best on light loamy soils. Sowing seeds is recommended at the end of April to a depth of 1-1.5 cm, and for autumn sowing - at the end of October or beginning of November at a temperature of about +5°C, with seeds sown to a depth of 2-3 cm and mulched with peat to retain moisture.

Care for plants includes timely thinning: the first - two weeks after seedlings appear, the second - when the roots reach a diameter of about 1 cm, leaving a distance of 5-6 cm between plants. Successful growing requires regular watering, weeding, loosening, and feeding. It is recommended to cover the crops with film until seedlings appear to maintain optimal soil moisture. Due to its taste qualities, high yield, and beneficial properties, Amber carrots are an excellent choice for both home growing and commercial production.
