Bluegrass NEWGLEIDE

Why professionals choose NewGlade Kentucky Bluegrass

When the objective is to create a turf surface capable of withstanding intense traffic—whether for a professional football pitch or a premium landscape project—genetics play a decisive role. NewGlade, developed by the American breeding center Jacklin Seed, has established itself as a reliable tool for agronomists managing high-use turf areas.

Practical application and agronomic advantages

• Sports Facilities: Due to its rapid recovery rate after physical wear, NewGlade is a staple component in seed mixes for stadiums. It forms a dense sod that maintains its structural integrity even during frequent training sessions.
• Urban Landscaping and Parks: The variety retains a deep dark-green color throughout the entire growing season, ensuring an aesthetic appearance without the need for excessive fertilization.
• Disease Resistance: High genetic resistance to Helminthosporium and powdery mildew is a primary advantage. For landscape managers, this translates into significant budget savings on fungicides and reduced chemical application, which is critical for public recreational areas.

Jacklin Seed has succeeded in creating a variety that does not require extreme maintenance while still delivering results typical of professional golf courses. When seeding, it is essential to ensure high-quality soil preparation and consistent irrigation during the germination phase. Once established, NewGlade develops a vigorous root system, allowing the turf to compete effectively with weeds and maintain a dense, uniform carpet.
