Description Poa
Poa pratensis is a perennial turf grass widely used in sports and game fields, as well as for creating high-quality park lawns. It has high winter hardiness: thanks to its green winter color, the lawn maintains an attractive appearance even in cold months. In open ground, seedlings appear two weeks after sowing; with film cover, they can appear in just a week, accelerating the rooting process.

In the first year, Poa growth is slow, but by the second or third year, a full-quality turf is achieved. Therefore, when planting, mixtures with other grasses are often used: pasture ryegrass, fine-leaved fescue (both common and red), meadow and red oatgrass. Such a combination ensures stability on various soil types, including sloping areas, but excludes boggy places. Poa is well compatible with other grasses, forming a dense and strong cover.

The grass is frost- and drought-resistant; irrigation is needed during the summer to maintain the health of the cover. The sowing rate is 2–3 kg per 100 m² (or 20–25 kg/ha), and the packaging is usually released in 25 kg bags. Thanks to its ability to recover quickly, Poa pratensis is often used as the main grass species for lawns and parterres of suburban plots, as well as in the feed sphere for creating pastures.
