Mintgrass «FORSIZONE» is a single-cut variety of mint (Mentha spicata), specifically developed for commercial cultivation in greenhouse and open-field conditions. The plant reaches a height of up to 30 cm and a crown width of 15–20 cm, while its large oval leaves with a smooth surface have a green-blue hue and a rich mint oil aroma. The seeds are round, light green, with a diameter of 1.5–2 mm and a density of 0.8–1.0 g/kg. Thanks to its high yield – up to 12–15 tons/ha (average indicator 10 tons/ha) – «FORSIZONE» ensures a stable output throughout the season.
The growing conditions for this variety are optimal at a soil pH of 6.0 to 7.5, moisture of 60–70% of maximum, and a temperature of 18–25 °C. Sowing is carried out 20–25 days after the beginning of spring with a planting density of 30–35 cm between plants and 45–50 cm between rows. Regular watering, soil loosening, and mulching help retain moisture, while periodic application of N-P-K fertilizers (150–200 g/ha) supports growth and development.
The variety is distinguished by its resistance to diseases – powdery mildew, fungal infections (Botrytis, Fusarium) and viral infections (Mimivirus) – as well as to pests such as mosquitoes, leaf miner moths, and spider mites. Upon the appearance of disease symptoms, it is recommended to remove infected plant parts and apply fungicides, such as propamocarb. Thanks to its high yield, rich aroma, and easy seed processing (average germination time 7–10 days), «FORSIZONE» is widely used in cooking, medicine, and aromatherapy, as well as as a decorative plant in gardens and parks.
