Meadow fescue «GREENPLAY» – a high-quality seed culture intended for cultivation in temperate climatic conditions. The plant belongs to the Mentha genus and is an annual herb 30–50 cm high with large green leaves and aromatic yellow-blue flowers. Seeds easily germinate in moist soil, and plant growth accelerates with regular application of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers supplemented with humus or compost.
The culture is characterized by high yield – 1.5–2.0 kg/ha depending on soil and feeding regime. It is resistant to most fungal diseases (powdery mildew, powdery mildew) and has good resistance to pests, but in the presence of mites and aphids, preventive application of systemic preparations is recommended. Optimal growing conditions include moist fertile soils with neutral or slightly acidic pH (6.0–7.5), growing temperature of 18–25 °C and sunlight.
«GREENPLAY» is widely used in the food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industries due to its content of menthol, eugenol, and flavonoids. Feed additive product based on this meadow fescue contains trace elements (zinc, copper, iodine) and B vitamins, contributing to improved digestion and support of the immune system of large livestock. Recommended dose – 0.5–1 gram per 100 kg of animal body weight per day. The product meets safety requirements for feed additives.
For successful cultivation, soil preparation (loosening and weed removal), sowing seeds in early spring after the last frost, row spacing of 10–15 cm, watering 5–7 L/m² during active growth, and fertilization with 100 g of nitrogen and 50 g of phosphorus per hectare are recommended. Seeds retain germination for up to 12 months at a temperature of 0–10 °C and humidity of no more than 15%.
